My teaching experience dates back to my High School years, as I began teaching private lessons part time 10 years ago, and have been consistently teaching students throughout my life for the last 10 years. I encourage regular practice on a consistent schedule, as it tends to help the student progress and gain a passion for the instrument. I've also found that getting my beginner students learning the songs they want to learn can go a long way in helping students enjoy the guitar and motivate them to practice and continue to learn. I realize that some students learn music better by ear, and I will work to develop that skill alongside the essentials of reading the music on paper. As they progress, I hope to introduce different kinds of solo music in order to teach different skills and techniques that are involved, while still keeping the music fun and accomplishing the goals that the student wants to accomplish. As a musician, there is nothing more rewarding than sharing my love and knowledge for music with others. My primary focus is to make sure the student is enjoying the lessons and learning the style of music they desire to learn. Nobody enjoys lessons where they have to play styles of music that they are not interested in, which also poses the threat of the student losing their interest in learning music. Read More
