To some students , I encourage them to practice only a few measures, while another student may complete the entire piece. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce a solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance. I started learning to play guitar when I was about 6 years old. Had a few uncles who taught me how to strum a few chords here and there, and then went through about 4 actual guitar teachers before I found the one that really helped me the most. He helped me enjoy what I was learning. That was the game changer in my playing! He has appeared with numerous orchestras, opera companies, chamber groups, and various contemporary music ensembles, and he and is a founding member of TABOR, an ensemble dedicated to expanding the sonorities of the traditional woodwind quintet.
