I have built a private studio on the foundations of traditional bel canto technique with a strong emphasis on the Italian School. I believe in consistent practice with scales, arpeggios and other exercises that help students build and strengthen their voices and navigate their registers. A passionate educator, Kellon has has taught music in after school programs, worked as a band technician, given collegiate masterclasses, and worked as a lesson instructor with both children and adults. Beginner students learn essential basics of drumming, including how to hold the sticks, strike the drums, and position themselves behind the drum set. Students will also learn how to play a standard rock beat, basic music reading (which can be applied to any instrument), and the basic function of the drums in a musical situation. Her first live solo album, well-received by critics, garnered the No. 8 spot on the Billboard Traditional Classical chart. Her collected transcriptions of Argentine tangos is pending publication by her independent publishing company. My teaching experience dates back to my college days, as I began teaching private lessons part time 9 years ago and have been consistently teaching student in my studio for the last 2 years. Encouraging regular practice on a consistent schedule is one of the key point I like to emphasize for younger students, as it tends to help the student progress and gain a passion for singing. I like to impart a holistic love of music in my students, without boring them with too much history or theory. However, it is my belief that theory and musical literacy will open doors to a greater level of fulfillment and understanding of music as a whole.
