For young children, I usually choose teaching books that are more fun and give them a basic start with understanding musical symbols by performing tasks in their books. Once students begin to understand how to read and play, I start to introduce the next level of material for them. For adults, I focus on what they are interested in and give more in-depth theory or compositional discussions if they wish or guide them towards playing pieces they always wanted to learn. Read More

The key to my successful teaching technique is to understand that we are all individuals with various tastes in styles of music. Therefore, I allow students to discover their own styles through exploration of an array of styles rather than insisting that they stick to one specific genre.
