Instruments: Piano Guitar
It was the only yearI didn't march around with a feather on my head, LOL. These experiences with all the various instruments I have studied allows meto see piano differently. I am classically trained on the piano but I believe music is for everyone and it shouldn't be taken so seriously. The genuine love and study of music should be a positive experience. Music is in so much of who our identity is. Read More
Instruments: Saxophone
I teach the beginning students with Essential Elements 2000: Eb Alto Saxophone, Book 1. It has the fingering charts for the student to use in practice. The playful tunes are good to work in lessons. For medium to advanced level, I will use Selected Duets by H. Voxman, Daily Studies for All Saxophones by Trent Kynaston, Ferling Etudes book, etc. I encourage the student to practice both technique (Scales, thirds, long tone exercise, tonguing) and etudes on daily basis. Instruments: Violin Viola
After moving to the United States, my part-time orchestra jobs have included principal student violist of Conway Symphony Orchestra, associate principal violist of Pine Bluff Symphony Orchestra, and sectional violist of Texarkana Symphony Orchestra. I have gradually understood the importance of the viola section, and how to contribute to an orchestra as a single violist. Three semesters later in May 2012, I received an Artist Diploma from the UCA, and then started to working on my Master Degree there in August 2012. Read More

My teaching style is centered on the intersection between neuroscience and music. I love exploring how the brain works and how we can take advantage of that to make our practice as effective as possible. For example, did you know that a lot of the absorbing information that your brain does happens while youre sleeping? Or that a technique called random practice is more effective than blocked practice? In addition to supplementing my teaching with my neuroscience degree (in progress), I also think that it is my job as a teacher to make motivation and inspiration as easy as possible for the student. Instruments: Piano Voice
I believe that a good teacher helps students teach themselves. Most of a students learning will be done on his or her own at home or in a practice room, so a teacher must give them the necessary tools to succeed, as well as constant support and encouragement. My goal is to teach healthy, grounded singing, no matter what musical style my students are interested in pursuing. I focus on balanced and centered body alignment, accurate body mapping, an easy breathing technique, and vibrancy/flexibility in sound. Read More
Instruments: Piano Guitar Trumpet Trombone Saxophone Oboe Music
I tailor my teaching to each student's needs and interests. I emphasize overall musicianship in addition to learning to the fundamentals of the particular instrument, splitting most lessons 50/50 between fundamentals on the instrument and musicianship skills such as music theory, sight-reading, sight-singing, playing by ear, and composition or improvisation. For students in a school band or orchestra program, I will work with them on their band music and bring in additional material as enrichment. Read More
Instruments: Flute Clarinet Recorder Piccolo Music
I also have passion for community service, and worked as a volunteer music teacher for the ”Program for Access to Technical Education Employment”, where I taught music to students living in property and provided social assistance to people with disabilities and indigenous peoples. In 2017, I came to Tucson in pursuit of my Master’s degree, where I performed in the prestigious Fred Fox Graduate Wind Quintet and also served as the graduate teaching assistant (GTA) for the UA Flute Studio.
