My teaching style is flexible, supportive, and student-focused. I begin by understanding each students unique goalswhether its mastering technique, preparing for performances, building confidence, or simply enjoying music. From there, we create a personalized plan to help them succeed. I tailor my approach to match each students learning style, pace, and interests, whether theyre beginners or advanced musicians. My goal is to make every lesson engaging, encouraging, and rewarding, so students stay motivated and excited to learn. Read More

I meet you where you are at as a student and go from there. I like to teach methodically, building on new skills each lesson as building blocks towards bigger goals. I assign brief, targeted technical exercises as a venue to work on foundational technical skills, and incorporate these skills as much as possible into musical application. The ultimate goal is to play music and have fun, so technical practice will always be in service of playing the music you want to play. Read More
Instruments: Piano
In teaching piano, half my focus is on the student playing the music. The other half involves learning how to move your hands, how to practice effectively (especially when you hate it!) and how to stay excited about piano. Some lessons will focus on different things each time depending on each students goals. Id love to end up having recitals every year so that my students can demonstrate what theyve been working on! Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music! Therefore, it's important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. Acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel a students desire to progress, and makes students eager to learn more. By trying to find out what inspires the student, I can successfully tailor my instruction to their wants and needs. Read More
Instruments: Voice
It's very important for me to see my students progress without tension and learn to sing with ease and build breath support and ear training over time. Vocal health and improving vocal quality across a singer's range is also of utmost importance. I tailor lessons according to the singer's level of proficiency and the complexity of the material or repertoire covered. Whether the goal is to prepare for an audition or simply improve your singing voice, we then tackle the fun part of performance, where I guide students in bringing the story of the character and song to life. Instruments: Piano Voice
Meeting my students where they are at and focusing on their individual needs is the most important thing. And taking away pressure. Learning how to sing is a journey you embark upon. Singing is a joyfull, fun way to grow as a person and as an artist. It takes concentration and focus, though and a willingness to try out new things and very importantly: patience with oneself. I find, especially young adults can gain so much confidence by singing and by making music in general. Read More
Instruments: Drums
For beginner students I usually begin with listening exercises. We will listen to music and talk about what the drummer is doing, and how we can de-construct that. From there we talk about how that looks written down on paper and explore the basics of drum notation. Within this we will also talk about proper technique. For adults, or students with more experience, i will try to find out where their skills are and what they are interested in learning from me. Read More
