I am a patient and supportive teacher who tailors his instruction to each student's experience, age, and needs. Over the course of our lessons I set realistic goals for the student that enable them to progress steadily, develop confidence, and deepen their interest. Nothing is more rewarding than watching a student grow, and I make it a point to acknowledge their improvement and the merit of their accomplishments. I emphasize steady, efficient practicing methods and encourage students to develop their skills and understanding. Read More

For beginners of any age, I begin by discussing goals, milestones, and how we will achieve them. I do use method books, but only recommend those that will be useful in and out of lessons.
