I will make sure the students can read and understand music so that when we start with harder materials it will be easier and more fun. I like to involve students in setting their own individual goals. I acknowledge the individual goals and interests of students through choosing repertoire that is meaningful and engaging to them. Upon graduation from college, I worked with autistic support students within Pittsburgh Public schools. I secured my music teaching position working in the same district shortly there after. I taught grades kindergarten through eighth. I taught general music along with instrumental music and choir. I also coached middle school cross country runners for several seasons. Since 2020 I have been invited to teach at summer bagpipe camps which has also exposed me to more types of personalities and learning styles.
