I start with training your hands to play as effortlessly as possible. We do that by working on exercises I've developed along with Snare drum books. I look to customize lessons that fit each student. Together we pick books, and music that fits their needs. As we go along I add the necessary techniques that will move the student to higher levels of playing. I believe in a balance between challenging my students and encouraging them. Students are at their very best when they feel affirmed and empowered, but also when the teacher is aware of their full potential and pushes them to achieve that. I believe in a very detailed approach where I am actuely aware of each of the student's particular strengths and areas for improvement and closely monitor their progress in areas of technique, musicality, expression, articulation, facility, and finesse. I firmly believe that nurturing passion for music and the drums is the ultimate goal of any private instructor. As such, I prioritize student agency to make their own musical journey. My role is to make this journey as smooth and efficient as possible by providing the appropriate materials and guidance. Though I always provide plenty of materials to enrich a student in between lessons, I don't enforce a particular practice schedule, nor do I ever scold students for meeting any "standard". Read More

I teach students how to use their entire body as an instrument. I teach the arpeggio technique of keeping an open throat and diaphramtic breathing. I also teach vocal alignment and pure vowels. Read More

I began teaching the clarinet in 2016 at Highland Park High School in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. 7 of my 8 students in 2016 placed in the TMEA Region Band, and another 2 went on to the 5A TMEA All-State Symphonic Band. In 2017, I had another student place in the 5A TMEA All-State Symphonic Band. I took up an additional job teaching at William B Travis TAG Academy in Dallas, where I taught beginners and 7th graders. I have taught students as a private instructor and private tutor for the past 7 years, with students as young as 7 and as old as 40, I have developed the ability to adapt and cater my lessons to a variety of different scenarios. I primarily find myself teaching guitar, but am equally capable in teaching bass guitar and music theory.
