I have been using the Alfred Method Books for my beginning piano students, as they provide a well-rounded program incorporating theory, technique and performance. pieces. Intermediate students should, in my opinion, begin to choose the music they want to work on. I like my students to learn how to read music as well as play by ear, how to practice and how to incorporate theory into performance. Most of all, I want all my students to deeply feel the joy of music making, and discover the vast universe of music that we all can share and enjoy. Read More

My teaching experience began in spring 2008 at a local church where taught piano drums classes as a music instructor to students ranging from ages 5-18. Throughout college I was a piano and voice instructor at the Boys and Girls Club Music Clubhouse in Boston MA where I continued teach students ranging from ages 10-18.For the past three years I have continued to provide private instruction and tutoring for students of all ages.I find that my students have a much more pleasurable learning experience, when they are able to apply what they learn in ways that are meaningful to their desire and aspirations.I've always encouraged my students to uphold a positive work ethic and mindset when embarking on their musical journey. I love music and have studied piano since I was six years old. I also studied organ and clarinet briefly. My degrees are in Psychology and Communications. I worked for state and federal government agencies and was a writer and producer for CNN/Atlanta for ten years. I enjoy teaching piano and now have six students ranging in age from 4 to 36 years of age. I also enjoy tennis and am a former law student, but found the latter not to my liking. Read More

I'm a passionate and motivated instructor who loves working with students and sharing my love of music. I was the principle pianist for the Martin Symphonic Orchestra and one of the main soloists for the Martin Jazz Group. I was an opening act performing on synthesizer with my band at the Kansas City Music Festival. I've won many awards and medals competing on flute and saxophone at the local and state level. Read More

My teaching come from the Suzuki philosopy. I want to make good citizens. If a child hears fine music and learns to play it they develop sensitivity, discipline and endurance. I develop the students mid-brain in a musical enviroment. I teach the student how to use their ears more and their eyes less. If the students ear is strong and well honed, their music journey will be so much enjoyable. Read More

I have taught music for the past three years (mostly in home lessons). Jazz is a very important component to my lesson plan, because I want all of my students to understand the concept of improvisation. Improvisation makes students excited to see that music goes beyond what is on the sheet of paper. If a student is not having a good time making music, I am not doing my job correctly. Read More
