I believe Suzuki is a great place to start, as it gives learners a chance to practice specific technical and musical skills before moving on to more challenging material. Suzuki also emphasizes listening to professionals perform pieces you're working on, which I believe is important as it allows you to "absorb" good habits. I believe in breaking down complex musical concepts into bite-sized lessons that include repetition and practice to achieve mastery. Read More

I do not give my students minimum practice times every day, while I do present them with a recommended schedule. Instead, I teach them how to make time during the day, how to adjust their attitude towards practicing, and exactly what obstacles they will need to overcome in disciplining themselves to practice.
