For teaching children, I approach teaching as to the execution of everyday and fun pieces, so that the child learns by, and in turn I introduce aspects of academic learning necessary to create a solid base. Every student is different.  The most important thing is for the student to get along with their instructor.  I am a patient and easy going person, but I also want discipline and excellence. I have over 15 years experience working with thousands of talented people, including talent featured on American Idol, The Voice, Disney, X-Factor, and major movies and tv shows. I enjoy kids and students of all ages that are enthusiastic about learning, and I want them to be extraordinary with their skills. Read More

I'm relatively new to the teaching life, but I love it regardless. I started in September of 2018 with one student who I taught throughout the semester, and seeing him grow throughout the months was satisfying unlike anything else I've experienced. I taught one student a semester due to my school commitments but still managed to teach them a lot and open their eyes to the world of music. I believe that teaching and passing down knowledge is how society gets better, including music. Read More

For beginning students (regardless of age instrument) I try to simplify the approach and work on a set of warm ups/exercises coupled with a performance piece or song that they can feel good about and lots of fun listening assignments. From there I have a few options of instruction methods that I tailor to the individual student. More intermediate/advanced students will not escape from some of the basics (metronome, scales, rudiments etc.) but will be met with many more choices of performance material based more on their individual goals.
