While I have taught violin lessons since 2010, my most recent passion for teaching occurred when I became an Adjunct Professor of Violin at New York University from 2016-2018. I held this position for two years while I was simultaneously completing my Masters degree, and maintained a studio of 10 students each semester. While at NYU, I taught a variety of students, from complete beginners to advanced violin players. My method of teaching is to start students with a strong foundation of buzzing and making characteristic sounds on the horn. This includes buzzing with and without the mouthpiece. Also, my students must be able to read music. Reading music is very important to me, having the students be musically literate with a decent tone will take a student far in their musical career. I love to encourage my students to develop their teaching, technical and artistic abilities. For instance, the first class helps me to analyze and have an approach to the students playing. Then, I ask about his interests or concerns regarding technique, musicianship or repertory. All this allows me to make suggestions that help create a program based on the student's needs.
