I started tutoring students on the flute at a very young age and have done it off and on since then. I like to play with students and encourage performances and help with competitions. When I was in school, I competed in solo and ensemble competitions and also performed in All-State Band and other honor bands. Beginners are mostly taught with alfred lesson books and learning how to position themselves and where the notes on the piano are first. I usually takes time after a few lesson to give them a chart to understand how to read notes, along with flashcards to study at home too. If the child is comfortable, when recitals occur they are able to participate. As far as more advanced students, I pick up where they are currently at and ask what they do know to see what pieces are best and what techniques need improvement. Read More

I have been teaching students private voice and piano for 6 years. Encouraging a consistent schedule is one of the key points that I like to emphasize for younger and new students. This will help students progress and gain a passion for the instrument. Music is my passion and I love sharing it with others. I've been an instructor for drums and percussion for over twenty years. After graduating from Berklee College of Music, I moved to L.A. where I continued my studies alongside ultra professional drummers Dave Weckl Chad Wackerman. While living in California I was able to gain invaluable experience performing on stage and recording in major studios. After moving back to the east coast I remain active in the music scene local to Baltimore, Maryland as well as playing nationally with groups ranging from Nashville, California and New York. Read More
