In New York the band directors instruct all instruments in group lessons so I am familiar with technique, tone, tuning, fingerings etc...for all band instruments. My teaching and performing specialty is woodwinds, namely saxophone, flute and clarinet in both classical and jazz genres. I minored in the Music Industry and performed with the Marching Band, Basketball Pep Band, co-founded a lacrosse band, and became a Brother of Kappa Kappa Psi, the National Honorary Band Fraternity. I received both a Masters and a Law Degree from Syracuse in 2002, but never stopped playing, and have been given the nickname of "The Human Jukebox" since I can recognize and perform nearly any song I have ever heard. Recently, my family and I relocated to the Buffalo area and I am looking forward to working with some of the local musicians. I love understanding what makes each individual unique; so I really listen to them and design a curriculum based on their likes; challenging them to appreciate all styles of music; and encouraging them to become fluent in various genres, time periods and methods.
