I have been a musician forever and I just love making music with others and inspiring everyone to raise their voice through music. It is my favorite thing to get lost in a song or dig deep into the musical process. I travel the world making music with others and mostly enjoy playing clarinet, singing and conducting, but I have a special love for percussion and learning new instruments as well. Read More

Further, I've also instructed marching bands and drum lines at the high school and college level. Read More

Therefore, I allow students to discover their own styles through exploration of an array of styles rather than insisting that they stick to one specific genre. This and the inclusion of music theory adds to the individual becoming a well-rounded musician. When a student is doing what they enjoy, then they are more likely to continue learning. Read More

I work closely with my students on crafting a lesson plan that best suits their interests. I've never been a homework guy; instead, I like to inspire my students by following their desired goals. Want to learn how to play like Metallica? Let's do it. Want to write songs like Taylor Swift? I'm game. Want to play bass like Flea? That's a challenge I'm up for. I like to consider myself as not only a teacher, but also as a bandmateyour goals are also mine, and we're working together to help you achieve them. Read More

I began teaching guitar a little bit in high school. Then after college began teaching more and more and my experience grew. While obtaining my master's my focus was on different, unique strategies of teaching. I've taught roughly the ages from 5 up to late 60s. Many of these students I've directed in recitals as solo students or students in a group. I've also taught many guitar summer camps which emphasize playing in time as a group and which usually has a recital at the end of the camp. Read More
