Instruments: Guitar Bass Guitar
I love working with students and try to get them to learn as much as they can about the guitar or bass guitar. I teach all ages from ages 9 through 45 and I love working with them. I have been playing bass guitar for 12 years and guitar for 10 years and I practice everyday. I started out taking bass guitar lessons and eventually started playing in bands as a bassist and taught many students around the world. Read More
Instruments: Guitar Drums
I started playing drums at age 10 thanks to my father, who is a drummer and always had a drum set or two set up in the garage. I joined the school band in 5th grade, but soon quit, as I was distracted in school and it was a little too academic. It was in 6th grade that I started my first band with some friends, and I've played in various bands ever since. Read More
Instruments: Violin
I am a creative and focused violin instructor specializing in classical to contemporary orchestral music. I graduated from Drexel University in 2019 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. I have been playing the violin for almost 20 years, starting from my Kindergarten music lessons all the way to sitting as Concert Master for the Drexel University Symphony Orchestra. Between that, I've had the privilege of performing with the Metropolitan Youth Orchestra, the Gemini Youth Orchestra, New York All-County Orchestra, New York All-State Orchestra and New York Summer School of the Arts. Instruments: Piano Keyboard
How do you get your students to those satisfying "aha" moments? If you teach private piano lessons, the need to get this right is even more pressing - if your students aren't enjoying themselves, chances are they'll simply quite. And the best way to make sure they enjoy themselves is to make sure they keep learning. The problem is that every student is different, and what works well for one student may not work as well for another. Read More
Instruments: Saxophone
Out of countless saxophonists in the state, I was one of two tenor saxophonists chosen to perform in the district, region, and all-state wind ensembles and the only musician to be regaled the PMEA Richard Merrell Band Scholarship. In the jazz realm, my high school jazz ensemble auditioned and was chosen to be the only high school ensemble to perform at the 2015 PMEA state conference. With such a variety of music education and performance experiences, I was ready to continue my music education at the Mason Gross School of the Arts, an undergraduate program I chose specifically to study with Grammy nominated Ralph Bowen, known in the jazz world as a gifted educator. Instruments: Bass Guitar Double Bass Music
Especially for upright bass, technique and proper muscle use is of utmost importance. Ensuring a student will not injure themselves immediately or with continued practice would be covered first especially for beginners. After proper technique and comfort is established, we learn scales, sight reading, solo or duet pieces selected by ability, as well as any thing the student shows interest in learning. Also important to me is instrument maintenance! Cleaning your bass, bow hair, and properly humidifying the instrument. Read More
Instruments: Piano
I pay special attention to the students' reactions and guide them from there because passion for the instrument is the top priority, and is the fuel to keep a musician going whether it is for a career or a hobby. I start by giving the student trivial assignments, but will quickly ramp it up to find their limits. If I find the student's limit, I will keep it just below that so the student can accomplish the given tasks, yet they can be outside their comfort zone. Read More
