Instruments: Piano Voice
It is important for both me and my student to have long-term and short-term goals. Long-term goals may have to do with technique--for voice, examples may be releasing tension or singing with proper breath support. Short term goals are more linked to repertoire and can be technical or musical. An example on the piano may be playing through a piece with a particular metronome marking. I have each of my students use a practice log so both the student and I can keep track of short-term goals. Read More
Instruments: Piano
I decided early on to become a musician and pursued this goal through my education. I started piano at age 8 and continued with them for the next 15 years. I also studied trumpet from elementary school through high school. After finishing my studies I began teaching to supplement my income. It would go on to be a full time profession. I love to pass on my knowledge of the art to other generations in the way that my five teachers did for me. Read More

I have been teaching students for about twelve years. I held graduate teaching assistantships at the University of Florida, Boston University and the Boston University Tanglewood Institute. In addition, I woas a contracted instructor at a private K-6 school in Chestnut Hill, MA. My students have won auditions and competitions at both the professional and collegiate levels. While I am passionate and very serious about the art, I also feel it is important to enjoy playing and studying music. Read More

From intimate venues to prestigious concert halls, each stage has been a canvas for artistic expression. One of the most unforgettable moments was gracing the iconic Museum of Modern Art l in New York, where I shared my love for the saxophone and jazz with a captivated audience. These experiences have not only shaped me as a musician but also fueled my passion for teaching. I believe in fostering a nurturing and inspiring learning environment where students can explore their creativity and unlock their musical potential. Read More
Instruments: Voice
For Voice I cater my teaching to the student's goals and aspirations. The first 10-15 minutes of a lessons are spent doing vocal warmups and sightsinging exercises. The remaining time is spent working on repertoire that the student and myself choose together. For Piano I work out of the Faber Piano Adventure Books. These can easily be purchased on amazon after the first lesson. For continual progress, it's imperative that the student has a piano or keyboard at home to practice on. Read More
Instruments: Voice
No matter the age of the student, I work to find music to which the student can connect both musically and psychologically, which is important in keeping the student engaged and motivated. I don't use a particular teaching methodology or repertoire series, but instead pull from a variety of pedagogical techniques and song anthologies, tailoring each lesson to the student, where they are in their vocal development and on that particular day.
