Once the student has progressed and has managed to grasp fundamentals, we can proceed to the next volumes within the same series. Music is definitely my passion, and I love taking any opportunities I get to help spread my love for music to others. So far, I have two degrees in music: my Bachelor's from the University of Indianapolis in Percussion Performance (with concentrations in composition and recording) and my Master's from the University of Cincinnati, College-Conservatory of Music in composition. I'll be entering into my doctoral degree in composition at UC-CCM in the spring of 2015, but don't let my graduate pursuit of composition degrees fool you - I'm definitely a percussionist at heart, and timbre is one of the primary focuses of my compositions. I move at a very quick pace, but I have my students set their own goals. While I will select the literature for the student, I want them to feel successful when they are working with me. I want students to be confident and successful, so I will do anything in my power to help them learn good technique and practice habits. I began teaching in Mississippi in 2011 to college students at the University of Southern Mississippi. After moving to Cincinnati, I began teaching preschool music. I began developing a preschool curriculum at the University of Cincinnati's Preparatory Program that combined reading, dancing, singing and imagining. After teaching privately for a year, I began my position as Executive Director of the Cincinnati Outreach (COR) Music Project.
