I am very passionate about music. I love to teach and pass along what i know so that others can continue to create music for profit and personal enjoyment. I am a very low pressure teacher. If you are not enjoying your time then no one is benefiting from the lessons. I use a marker board, books, a metronome, paper and pencils etc to tech lessons. For my own beginner students who are children, I typically start with Hal Leonard's Essential Elements. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance. My student from this program won $1000 scholarship to attend her dream University in Florida. I believe that all education starts with relationships. I typically have students begin by playing something they are comfortable with that they enjoy, and we go from there. I am comfortable teaching a variety of methods and like to help the student achieve their individual goals, whatever those may be. I've heard from many students how much easier it is for them to take private lessons instead of being on display in front of a group. It can be disheartening to hear other players in a class setting who can play more proficiently than you. Private lessons offer exactly what it states: privacy.
