Instruments: Violin

I have a patient, focused, goal-oriented teaching style derived from pedagogical practices and my own personal experiences as a musician. Studying with me will help you cultivate technique that is fine and precise, develop a deeper appreciation for music, and most importantly, help you perfect the art of practicing smart. I am particularly inspired by the positive reinforcement methods employed by Suzuki, which successfully encourage and motivate any student. We will be going through a fairly even distribution of scales, etudes, and repertoire that I will carefully select based on your current abilities. Read More

I usually teach what style the student wants to learn. I am most proficient in teaching classical, blues, rock, metal, and jazz. I teach out of three diferrent books that have very effective curriculums. I also teach my own methods that have helped me personally become a better guitarist. I teach children and adults and my methods are adaptable to evey student from begginer to advanced. Read More

Instruments: Piano Voice

For beginning piano students I typically use the Alfred Method. Once the student demonstrates a grasp of the fundamentals I introduce solo repertoire. For adults I typically use the John Thompson Adult Piano Course and we work together to find the solo repertoire. For voice lessons, I typically teach the bel canto style. I will work with vocalises that help develop breath control, placement and open vowels. I also use the Music Theory for Singers program to teach Music Theory and also use solfeggi to build sight singing skills. Read More

Instruments: Piano Voice

My teaching experience began at the University of Tulsa. I taught voice to a few students who were non music majors for about a year. After graduating from the University of Tulsa, I began teaching at Brook Fine Arts Academy in Tulsa, Oklahoma. I taught over 30 students a week in both voice and piano (ages 3 to 20) for over a year. In my work as a teacher, I have helped students prepare for school competitions, studio recitals, talent shows, solo and ensemble contest, and musical auditions. Read More

Instruments: Trumpet Trombone Euphonium French Horn Tuba

My teaching experience began in 2006. During my college years I taught trombone to fellow students and later as a college instructor and high school band director, taught young adults. My experience as an elementary school teacher has rewarded me with skills to work with younger children. I now work with seasoned musicians as a mentor and coach. I have fun too. I have performed with Kristin Chenoweth, The Electric Light Orchestra, Nancy Wilson, and Ray Charles. Read More

Instruments: Guitar

Everyone starts differently and everyone learns differently. I think that the material covered in lessons should be dependent on what the student knows and what the student is interested in. Even though theory can be complicated and at times tedious I think the most important goal is to be able to enjoy both learning and playing your instrument. Weekly goals will be set for students to ensure they study the lesson subjects. Read More

Instruments: Saxophone Flute Clarinet

Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music! Therefore, it's important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. Acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel a students desire to progress, and makes students eager to learn more. By trying to find out what inspires the student, I can successfully tailor my instruction to their wants and needs.. Read More

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
