Music lessons should be fun  - I have practical tips for practicing but the student's desire to learn will be the drive. The most important thing is to keep picking up that instrument - even if its for 5-10 minutes a day. By modeling that all teachers are still students, I create a safe and supportive environment. My lessons have a specific flow. Instead of focusing the whole lesson only on a book, I take my time to jump around and make sure the lesson isn't repetitive and boring. We will switch the focus from to warm-ups, to the book, to scales, to chord, etc. I will also frequently express my gratitude and appreciate to you instead of complaining with frustration. Lessons are structured around songs that they like and what makes those songs unique. I like to teach some fundamentals about guitar, then relate it back to the song.
