I always enjoy seeing my students develop a passion for music! I don't use a standard book system since my lessons are geared around the individual students musical taste. I set realistic goals and always make sure I am not overwhelming the student with work or information. During a lesson I frequent stop to make sure their understanding the information i am giving them. I am flexible with my schedule, and it's pretty easy to reschedule a lesson with me if need be. I am first and foremost a student. I love being a student and love being open to new forms of music and anything to better my education. In May of 2017 I graduated from the Boston Conservatory at Berklee with a Bachelor's degree in Vocal Performance. Performance has taught me multiple languages, taken me around the U.S. and parts of Europe, working with the top musicians in the world. Since graduation I have been working on my own artistry and getting back to my roots as a singer song writer. Read More

I really focus on offering differentiated instruction and understand the importance of being able to adapt student to student. I typically do break our sessions up into focused segments in my lesson plans. I ensure that we cover music theory, rhythm exercises, improvising, and more. As far as practice material goes, I begin most with simple sheet music and some print-outs, however, we will expand into books, recording, and writing your own music. Read More

I always work with a method book, and have a range of fun books to choose from from beginner to advanced for guitar and piano. I use a separate sheet of paper as a log of each day's lesson at the end to show what we worked on, what to practice, and other notes or positive remarks ( ‘great job’, etc.) With older students I encourage exploring your own musical tastes and learning from the artists you like. Though each student gets a lesson plan that is catered to their individual needs, I start everyone off with these three questions: Which musical artists do you listen do? What do you like about their music? What are your goals with taking lessons? I use this information to teach the student how to play some of their favorite songs, how to write similar music, and how to use my lessons as a means of achieving their musical goals I have found that doing so results in faster results, and increased motivation. I like to find what they student is passionate about in music and start working towards honing the sound on the guitar. After the basics are learned we start creating the students very own style of the guitar depending on how they play and what genres of music they are trying to learn. This helps create a better musician. I like to encourage my students to play what they like because that is the only way they will enjoy the instrument. Read More

I'm a dedicated teacher, interested in teaching a variety of guitar styles (jazz, rock, traditional folk, etc) to students at all stages of musical growth. I recently graduated from the New England Conservatory of Music, where I studied Contemporary Improvisation and Music Theory, and received Pi Kappa Lambda honors. I emphasize an aural approach to music making, based on developing a relationship between one's ear (as expressed through the body - the voice, clapping, even dancing) and the guitar. Read More
