I started teaching in new Orleans 2 years ago. My first experience was in Guitar Center Studio for one year and then in LaFargue Pianos music shop for another year. I have had students of differet ages and musical preferances and backgounds. Each person has an individual process with music and its my job to help them in that process. In 2008 I graduated from University of New Orleans with a masters in jazz guitar and I have been playing guitar since I was 6 years old. I toured professionally in a band for 4 years playing 200 shows a year. I have experience teaching at college level high school level and grade school level. For beginning children students I typically start with Hal Leonard or a similar reputable music book.  Once the students has a grasp of the fundamentals we will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate to their age and skill level.  For adult students, I find out what the student is interested in and create a lesson plan that is fun and challenging no matter their skill level. I studied the Suzuki method as a youngster so I understand the importance of ear training and sight reading. Read More
