I'm a guitarist and teacher, committed to providing quality music education for college-level students and all experience levels. Well versed in classical, jazz, and popular guitar styles, I'm also comfortable teaching music theory. I design personalized lessons designed to meet the students interests and goals while also focusing on broadening their musical horizons and enhancing their technical abilities. After I graduated from Roosevelt University I had more time outside of academics to start a teaching practice. In 2011, I worked at Lynn Marcel School of Fine Arts in Hillside, IL. As a drum instructor I helped design a corruculum plan and taught younger students ages 8-14. My goal is to inspire and invigorate my students with the gift of music. Scales and fingering/vocal exercises can become boring and tiresome especially for new and younger students. I find ways to make these more mundane parts of the lesson fun with games and veiled learning that keep students engaged. Together we'll set realistic goals at each lesson and make sure we acknowledge at the end of the lesson how we've progressed and what we need to work on. Read More
