I use the "CAGED" system on guitar as a way to navigate the fretboard and understand the patterns on Guitar. I always put a strong emphasis on being able to learn a song by ear and understand the theory behind it. For younger children I use the Hal Leonard Method book to give them the ability to read Music. Teaching for me began as a complete accident but the love for it has been undying ever since. At the Berklee Day Sessions Summer Program in 2011, I played in and directed ensembles of musicians aged 10-13. I bonded with a guitar player and on the day of the recital, got my first private instruction student for bass guitar.
