The multifaceted expression of my musical curiosity lead to the path of teaching which I began early on by establishing at a young age the “Fillipos Conservatory of Veroia, followed by the “Contemporary Music Spoudastiri” in Athens, while at the same time I was teaching at significant music education establishments over the last 20 years. Some of those are: Municipal Conservatory of Kalamaria, 2002, 2015 Filippeion Veria Conservatory, 2005. Conservatory Polyrythmia - Modern Music School of Athens, 2008. Read More

I have a very hands-on teaching style. My style is very "goal-oriented," and I will teach students to set short-term goals, medium goals, and then demonstrate to them how reaching the short and medium-term goals leads to accomplishing long-term goals. This system allows students to remain motivated and track their progress as efficiently as possible. As a visual learner, I find it's extremely beneficial to teach shapes and how they can be manipulated to better serve a musical purpose along with the theory behind the shapes themselves. Read More

I first picked up a guitar when I was 13 years old. I played and took lessons from a great teacher all through high school, but didn't think it was a viable career option, so I went to college for physics. Eventually, I got very serious about my guitar playing, and ended up moving to Boston to study jazz performance at Berklee. While I was studying physics, I always had a part time job teaching guitar lessons, and really developed a passion for it. Read More

At this point in time I've been blessed with the opportunities to teach in both private one-on-one tutoring settings as well as with large groups of children through volunteering, student teaching and substitute teaching. It was through the summation of these experiences that I predicted- and have ultimately discovered- that I love being a music educator. The height of what fulfills me about being a music educator is the essence of the work: Exploration and nurturing for both the student and the teacher. Read More

As a student of acoustic guitar, I was never more excited to learn a new piece of music the day of my lesson. I was very eager to learn. So as a teacher, learning from your students is also very important because their approach has to be handled appropriately. There are many ways to encourage a student. But understanding how to tailor a lesson is crucial to the growth of the student and development of their sound. Read More

I also coordinated and participated in performance and workshop events in various small villages in Indonesia. None of this would have been possible without the guidance of both great teachers and my incredible parents. Support, and a solid foundation is what can instill a love of music in a child, even an adult just starting off on an instrument. And even though technique and foundation are so useful in the develpoment of an artist, I play and teach because it's fun, and that's what I aim to inspire in my students. Read More

I like to adapt all of my lessons to fit the unique the goals of each student. For younger students, I prioritize building a firm foundation of music fundamentals before diving too far into instrumental study. I am a fan of the Suzuki school of thought that music is a language. For older students and adults, I work towards more specific goals that the student has. In the event that students or parents want classical instruction that emphasizes musical literacy, I start with the Hal Leonard guitar method and progress to the William Leavitt books once the student is capable.
