Most of my teaching time is spent in the classroom where I have taught music from pre-school through high school. I began my teaching career with seven years of teaching students with multiple handicaps and moved in 2001 to my current postion where I teach from pre-k through third grade. I currently also direct a middle school choir and our annual middle school musical. I have found the last few years very rewarding as students become musicians. Since my first student I taught in 2004, through the days I taught at a music school, up right on to the present moment, I love passing the music onward as it was passed to me. I use String Builder, Essential Elements, etudes, technical studies for each instrument and Suzuki Methods for strings and essential elements for clarinet. I emphasize good posture, holding the instrument and bow properly and correct finger placement. Also learning to play scales and music to prepare for auditions and a recital. I also teach students music theory and sight reading and assist with orchestral music. I'm a recent graduate from Moravian College, class of 2019 with a degree in Music. I've spend years performing in local bands before starting my degree. In college, I was the lead alto saxophone in the BIG BAND as well as Wind Ensemble. I've had experience playing around the work, participating in the Karel Velebný Summer Jazz Workshop in Frýdlant, Czech Republic.
