This involves basic technical abilities, understanding of the layout of the guitar, basic reading skills, ear training skills, understanding of music theory, and rhythm skills. I believe that once a student can begin learning on their own time is when real growth happens through practice. Read More

My teaching style has been described as one that rewards hard work and dedication, but leaves room for experimentation and fun. My goal is always to inspire my students to want to learn, instead of fostering an environment where they feel forced into it. Read More

For adults, I try to find out what the student is interested in, and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun, no matter their ability level. Read More

First I like to get a snap shot of the student's goals and sources of inspiration, once I figure that out I can tailor my instruction around their wants and needs. I see myself as an accountability partner with my students and so I help my students set goals for their progress, celebrate their successes, and evaluate the shortfalls.
