However, the two things that I try to keep consistent among all of my students is a solid technical foundation and curiosity for different musical styles. For beginners, I typically start with the Rubank Beginner or Intermediate method book. The only blanket statement I can make is that every student deserves support, and more so, they perform better when they are supported and when realistic (yet still challenging) goals are made between both the student and teacher.
