I will teach students all the correct fingerings and the alternate fingerings. I will teach students how to read, write, and sight read sheet music. Each student is different with variety of expectations, abilities and interests, so as I get to know them, I try to best cater to their needs and find ways for them to learn while growing and improving on every level, not just musically. I certainly teach everyone to read music if they don't already know how, but I really like to help people hear the music they want to make. This is done through listening assignments, playing with my students during lessons, some music memorization, and singing.
