I understand that each student learns differently and I am able to differentiate my teaching methods to best fit the student needs. For instance if a student is interested in Musicals. We will start with our basic warm up and techniques but on top of that I would assign an excerpt from a musical that correlates with the current lesson. For beginning students who are children, I typically start with fundamentals in tone (Trevor Wye) and Moyse daily studies (I still use it myself!) . Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance. Tommy also holds his bachelor's degree from Illinois State University, where he studied with Dr. David Gresham.
