Since then, I have been focusing on providing lessons to students who would not otherwise have the opportunity to access them, due to accessibility, financial or any other reasons. For beginning students who are children, I typically start with fundamentals in tone (Trevor Wye) and Moyse daily studies (I still use it myself!) . Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance. For adults, I try to find out what the student is interested in, and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun, no matter their ability level. Read More

My teaching follows the books quite a bit, so that the student remembers what was taught when they go home and practice. I like for the student to have a notebook that I can write in supplemental information. I understand that each student learns differently and I am able to differentiate my teaching methods to best fit the student needs. In 2018, I graduated with a Bachelor of Music Degree in Flute Performance from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, where I studied with Kathryn Lukas. I have had many years of experience playing in different kinds of ensembles, including solo, chamber, band, and orchestra.
