I have over 5 years of teaching experience working with a variety of communities and age groups internationally and locally. This has allowed me the flexibility to truly cater my teaching style to the needs of each and every student, and be culturally competent realizing that every student learns differently and has different needs. Hi! My name is Nash Randall and I just entered my second year at Ohio University dual majoring in Music Education and Performance. I was exposed to music since I was very young, starting from private piano lessons then expanding out to a multitude of other instruments like the flute and clarinet, as well as the trombone and voice, but my main instrument has always been the saxophone. Throughout my high school career, I've participated in a vast amount of extra curricular music activities (jazz band, community bands, musicals, choir groups) as well as achieving high positions in numerous honor bands throughout Ohio. As stated previously, I just want my students to enjoy playing their instrument. I hope that they will improve and be the best that they can be. I do my best to make private lessons fun as well as productive. I utilize the blue Rubank books for students of all levels. No matter how developed a student may be there is always something of value in these books. Of course, I utilize other method books as well as working on specific works by composers depending on what kind of music the students likes. Read More

My experience in both music education and special education gives me the insight into adapting lesson material to the individual student, as no two students are alike in their learning styles! I work with the needs and goals of the individual student, and incorporates a wide variety of teaching styles into my lessons. For my younger piano students, I use the Bastien piano series, and I like to use the Alfred Adult Beginner series for my beginning students that are late middle school and older. Read More
