I have been teaching since I was in high school, maintaining a private studio and teaching lessons and sectionals in Cleveland schools. Having grown up in a large family, I love working with children and relate well to all ages. I'm goal-oriented and methodical, but I'm also passionate about what I do and I love nothing more than to impart that passion. I absolutely love getting students really excited about their instrument. I like to show videos of high level playing and introduce a wide variety of genres and styles while I find exactly what it is that inspires the student to play. My lesson structure normally consists of a warm up, rudiment/sticking work, reading or playing exercise and new concepts, then work on a song. That's why I work with students' individual needs to set realistic goals for each lesson while keeping an eye on long-term goals. I create a warm environment for students to experiment and ask questions so they can better understand their instrument, musical ideas, and their own thought processes.
