I am a student at Old Dominion University with only 2 French classes to go to graduate. I was a first chair clarinetist in middle school. I am currently playing tenor and Alto saxophones,drums, flute, percussion, and singing through various projects. I am self taught on a very large variety of instruments such as violin, recorder, guitar, and cornet. My most unique instrument is the jaw harp of which I am a virtuoso. Read More

Beginning students will start with tone and basic theory studies from the Trevor Wye Series. We then go on to learning some easy standards. For more experienced students, you'll choose an etude book, study tone from Moyse's "De La Sonorite", and really hone your scales and arpeggios from Taffanel and Gaubert's 24 Daily Studies. From there, each student will have individualized practice routine based on their needs. We will set your end goal and base all of our studies on attaining that. Read More

I use a variety of clarinet method books based on my current professional library. I also order based on student need. Method books are selected based on the students ability. Lesson plans are developed based on the students abilities, progress, and expressed goals. After each lesson, I email out to the student and their guardian, a run-down of what was covered with next weeks agenda and what the student should practice. Read More
