I am a sensitive and determined instructor and I love teaching music and sharing its beauty. I am currently completing my studies at Kennesaw State University where I will be obtaining a degree in Saxophone Performance. While attending Kennesaw I have had copious teaching and performing opportunities. Prior to beginning my studies at Kennesaw I attended Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College (ABAC), where I had the opportunity to play lead saxophone in all of the schools music ensembles. Read More

I also recently worked for Music Center of the Northwest, a nonprofit community music school in North Seattle, specializing in student and community relations. I have experience working with adults who want to revisit an instrument they put down, and who want to learn for the first time! Read More

For students of all ages, I like to lead with the quote from Marcel Moyse; "Practicing is a matter a time, patience and intelligent work", for I believe that once this is applied to the idea of practicing and general encounters with ones instrument, then success and progress is guaranteed. I love watching my students grow and develop into wonderful, passionate musicians. In order to see this growth, it is important to provide an environment in which a student feels free to express themselves. As I believe expression and creativity to be the fundamentals of music making, a student needs to be able to have fun and be themselves during a lesson. As soon as a student becomes disinterested, the ability to grow and make music has been lost. Read More

My methodological procedures are determined solely on the level of the student and their performance ability. Oftentimes I tailor lessons that ive created in my past to create lesson plans for individual students. I oftentimes use action research methods in helping me determine whether or not the teaching method that is being used in the lesson is effective for the student receiving lessons. For larger groups or smaller ensembles I create lessons around whatever the end goal is and/or the performance requirements. Read More
