I have also worked with a contemporary community music school in San Diego with a "Rock" Focus, working with elementary and middle school drummers, vocalists, guitarists and pianists to form their own bands.Currently, in addition to teaching privately, I am an Arts Department Substitute Teacher for La Jolla Country Day School, working with both their band and orchestra programs in the Lower, Middle, and Upper Schools. My teaching style begins with my assessment of each student's abilities, physical, mental, and emotional. By this method I am able to design a realistic program for each student. Patience and encouragement go hand in hand, acknowledging their accomplishments all along the way. Once some fundamentals are established, I add pieces that the student has an interest in learning.
