I believe that the most important aspect of learning music is inspiration; music should always be enjoyable, first and foremost. For beginning piano students, I usually employ the Faber or Alfred Series books. They are intuitive and the various books (Lesson, Theory, Technique, Performance, etc) complement each other well! When I attended college, I realized how much I loved learning to play expressively as a soloist, as well as in various ensembles. I've been involved with concert bands, wind ensembles, marching bands, orchestras, musical pit orchestras, and flute choirs. Read More

I encourage students to find music that they want to learn and to open them up to different styles and history of where the music came from. I come from a classical / jazz background so i am very happy to teach any style that would excite a student. Read More
