Teaching is something that I have always done, in addition to performing. I incorporate fundamentals and musicality with every student, but each student learns differently and has different goals. I do not have a set curriculum, I gear the study to the student, what the student needs and wants to accomplish. I encourage students to perform in some way, either on a solo recital of in a chamber ensemble. I hold annual recitals and online students also participate in recitals, if they choose. Read More

Music for me has been the one constant in my long trip called life. Since the age of 10 I have played trumpet, then baritone horn. I took my brother's flute and began learning flute solos off of the radio. Shortly after starting flute, I met a small group of players (music theory class in high school) who helped to "transform" my scope of music to heights I never would have dreamed before (I still play with some of them). I choose music that will help students in many different areas. Students need some music that will help them work on fundamentals: long tones, slurs, articulations, and scales. Students also need to play music they enjoy. All of my students, in addition to the fundamentals of good playing, bring in music that is enjoyable to play and that they like. It is a good balance when practicing. Read More

I am widely sought-after as a clinician, adjudicator, masterclass teacher, and performer both as a modern and baroque flutist. I'm a passionate and motivated instructor who loves working with students and sharing my love of music currently working on my Doctorate in Musical Arts in Flute Performance with Dr. Mary Karen Clardy. When not performing or researching for my next upcoming project, I enjoy spending time taking care of my plants, watching Netflix, and raising awareness for Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. Read More
