I am very familiar with all of the standard piano methods, and will evaluate the student in the first few lessons to choose a method that they will be the most comfortable with.  I supplement all lessons with music theory and outside repertoire, allowing the students to choose from their favorite genres/artists.  For theatre, musical theatre, and vocal coaching, I also employ Linklater and Alexander techniques. Donjon), Selected Duets, Solo works, Aebersold Jazz Studies and custom lesson plans that I create according to the performance level of the student. It is important to be creative in implementing the different levels of cognition to help students effectively retain and use new information. I've appeared in performance with Eyvind Kang, Vinny Golia, Bill Frisell, Steve Vai, and Dr. Nancy Ambrose King (under the direction of Maestro Jeffrey Kahane). As a soloist I've performed Bachs Concerto for Oboe and Violin with violinist Rachel Iba and the CalArts Ensemble, and won second prize in the Riverside Philharmonics 2018 Concerto Competition with my performance of Vaughan Williams Oboe Concerto.
