My experience teaching goes back to high school in which I tutored students in multiple subjects including Spanish and English. I also would help my section to improve as a section leader. During my college years, I worked as a graduate teaching assistant which allowed me to help students primarily in music. Part of my duties included teaching smaller classes and tutoring students in music theory and ear training. My love for teaching started around my sophomore year of high school. I used to be in marching band and I would always offer to help the people in my section with the music and find easier ways to play certain passages. Music has always been a joy in my life and I want to help students find that joy for themselves. I began teaching in Mississippi in 2011 to college students at the University of Southern Mississippi. After moving to Cincinnati, I began teaching preschool music. I began developing a preschool curriculum at the University of Cincinnati's Preparatory Program that combined reading, dancing, singing and imagining. After teaching privately for a year, I began my position as Executive Director of the Cincinnati Outreach (COR) Music Project. I began teaching beginner students when I was 16 years old and have been doing it ever since. It's never seemed like a "job" to me. I enjoy the excitement of a first-time student making their first sound to sight-reading duets with more experienced students. I started a flute choir at a local high school and would love to start one of my own at my studio. I had worked with a public primary school’s students and had some experience to work with 6 classes (each contains 60 students) before I earned a Bachelor's Degree during required practical training. Through explaining music knowledge to children from 6-year-olds to 12-year-olds I learned to communicate with people with patient explanations and the deep understanding of people’s situations.
