Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance. For advanced beginners to intermediate-level students, I try to find out what interests the student may have, and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun—no matter their ability level. I am a passionate and dedicated musician with a broad range of experiences both in education and performance. As a solo artist, I have toured the United States extensively, and have performed at festivals in the Caribbean and Denmark. For my piano students, I teach them on a keyboard to get them familiarized with the layout of the piano. I teach proper fingerings, scales, and most importantly music theory. For my flute, clarinet, and saxophone students I work out of appropriate etude books for their performance level. I also teach jazz improvisation.
