The bulk of my experience comes from eleven years of performance, in which I have been exposed to the vast majority of flute literature, ranging from standard solo repertoire, to chamber music (flute ensemble/woodwind quintet/flute quartets), to orchestra masterpieces, and to broadway pit orchestras. During my time at Vassar, I was able to teach four other undergraduate students who could not afford to take lessons through the music department. Read More

Topics that were covered included Anatomy-related content “Musicians are Small Muscle Athletes”, “The Art of Practicing”, “Pleasure- The driving force of Progress”. My audience consisted of Conservatory teachers, student of all ages, prospective students, parents as well as non-musicians. The outcome was wonderful and inspiring since the lecture was designed to be very interactive and was very well-received. I love being a witness and a guide to one’s personal and artistic growth through music. Read More

My first experience teaching began in 2014 when I began working marching band camps as the flute tech. I was responsible for helping the students learn marching fundamentals and drill for the show, in addition to running music related sectionals with the flute section daily. I started teaching privately in the fall of 2017, teaching middle school and high school students. At NYU, I am an Adjunct Flute Instructor teaching non-music majors flute lessons, and have had a wide range of students at NYU - beginners all the way to advance players. Read More

For my beginning students who are children, I may start them with Hal Leonards Essential Elements and/or the Rubank Method. Once they begin to learn the basics and and can grasp the fundamentals, I can begin to introduce solo pieces. For adults, I try to learn about what level the student is and what their interests are so that I can cater my lessons accordingly. Again, it is important for children and adults that the learning remain fun so that they want to practice each day! Read More

I focus on the individual more than anything else. I tailor my teaching style to each student. When something clicks for them, I stick with it and adapt to keep the student engaged, interested, and passionate about music. If I find a student is not fond of a certain book or solo, we change course together. Sharing my passion for music is very important to me, and being able to do so with students is incredibly rewarding to both parties. I always go at whatever pace the student is comfortable with to keep their success rates high. Read More

Hello! I am a freelance jazz saxophonist and woodwind player living in Jersey City. In 2016, I graduated from William Paterson University with a degree in jazz saxophone performance. I am passionate about all things music. Whenever I am performing, playing, teaching, practicing, talking about, or listening to, music... that is where I want to be! I have played and performed many styles of music all across New Jersey and New York, from jazz at Dizzy's in New York, to classic rock at the Stone Pony in Asbury Park, to pit orchestra music at various playhouses in New Jersey.
