I like to start beginning students with the Rubank Elementary series of books. Along with the Rubank books, I like to also focus on music being covered in school, if applicable. For more advanced students, I focus on the mastery of scales, technique, intonation, and sound production. I like to use the Andersen etude series, but this will vary from student to student. I have been teaching young people and adults how to play musical instruments for over 20 years. Currently I conduct after school music programs at the University of Memphis Campus School, CTK Lutheran School in Memphis, and Incarnation Catholic School in Collierville.
