I'm a dedicated and hard-working teacher that works to provide a consistently growing love and appreciation for music in her students. In 2016, I graduated with my Bachelor of Arts degree in Clarinet Performance at Morehead State University, and in April 2018 I graduated with my Master of Music degree at the Cincinnati-Conservatory of Music. I have performed in various professional and semi-professional musical settings including: 2 years in the Cave Run Symphony Orchestra, playing out of clarinet/flute/saxophone books for multiple musicals, and most recently traveling around the Midwest states playing clarinet for the Guerrilla Chamber Collective (a chamber group dedicated to performing new music by up-and-coming composers). During my college years, I worked as a graduate teaching assistant which allowed me to help students primarily in music. Part of my duties included teaching smaller classes and tutoring students in music theory and ear training. I had worked with a public primary school’s students and had some experience to work with 6 classes (each contains 60 students) before I earned a Bachelor's Degree during required practical training. Through explaining music knowledge to children from 6-year-olds to 12-year-olds I learned to communicate with people with patient explanations and the deep understanding of people’s situations. I began teaching beginner students when I was 16 years old and have been doing it ever since. It's never seemed like a "job" to me. I enjoy the excitement of a first-time student making their first sound to sight-reading duets with more experienced students. I started a flute choir at a local high school and would love to start one of my own at my studio. I began teaching in Mississippi in 2011 to college students at the University of Southern Mississippi. After moving to Cincinnati, I began teaching preschool music. I began developing a preschool curriculum at the University of Cincinnati's Preparatory Program that combined reading, dancing, singing and imagining. After teaching privately for a year, I began my position as Executive Director of the Cincinnati Outreach (COR) Music Project.
