I have been in love with the flute for over 20 years. I studied flute performance at the University of Kentucky under Gordon Cole. I have taught numerous school age children but welcome adult students as well. I have done free lance work with the Lexington Ballet Theatre Orchestra as well as other professional gigs. My teaching experience actually began in a limited capacity prior to starting college. I was fortunate to receive private flute instruction throughout high school, and as a result, I held roles as a section leader as a high school upperclassman. Upon my college graduation, I entered the workforce, all the while picking up flute students, primarily at a beginner level. I started teaching in band camp the summer after my first year of college and have continuously worked with several schools in KY. I have given lessons to students who are just starting out and high school students preparing for auditions and/other performances. I highly encourage students to start taking lessons as early as possible to establish good habits and break bad ones.
