Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Our music teachers understand that every student has different needs and abilities and therefore the lessons will be planned with that knowledge in mind.

I will ask the student for their goals and what they wish to accomplish by taking lessons. Once we establish a goal we can work on attaining that goal. During lessons I find it useful for students to learn some basic music theory as it helps understanding patterns that can be applied to the clarinet. I strongly focus on fundamentals especially when teaching younger players. My style of teaching is to prepare students for auditions and solo and ensemble festival. Read More

While I do not have much experience teaching music, I've been playing for over a decade, participating in both concert and marching ensembles, as well as Murray State's flute ensemble for several years. I also have plenty of experience working with children, both in my time working in daycares, primarily with ages 6 months through age 5, as well as volunteering helping with the children's choir at the church I grew up in and have attended my entire life. I began teaching the flute while at the University of Kentucky as an assistant to my professor Gordon Cole in his flute methods class to music educators. Since then, I have been teaching private lessons to middle and high school students. I do welcome beginners as well as adult students. I believe that teaching students how to practice is essential to their success.
