Coincidentally, I also had the good fortune to attend a lecture by Jim Trelease, a renowned read aloud advocate. I read his Read Aloud-Handbook and saw that The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar was a recommended read aloud. I have taught brand new musicians, who have never opened their instrument case, all the way through high school levels. I believe in starting the young musicians right with a good sound.
