I have played in basements, bars, art galleries, and concert halls. I have given workshops on improvisation. I have given guest-lectures on the physics of sound, music-theory, and contemporary aesthetic issues. In addition to the drum set, I play various hand drums, percussion instruments, found objects, and self-made instruments. I am a musical omnivore, always seeking out sounds that are new and unfamiliar to me. No matter what your skill level is we'll always need to maintain it. The saying is, "if you don't use it you lose it". No matter your skill level I believe it's important to understand what it takes to maintain the physical performance on your instrument. I've been teaching private instrumental and general classroom music for over 30 years. As a child, I received many music lessons on piano and drums and percussion. I decided to focus more on drums and percussion because it offered more in terms of opportunities to perform in school bands and orchestras. In high school, my friends and I formed our own band. Having this experience proved invaluable in my professional life, as I continue to form and promote bands to this day. Read More

Drums are much more fun when you play with other musicians and one way to do that is with recordings. Again there is room for me to bring music to the student, but also room for the student to bring something to me that they want to learn.
