I love sharing my passion for music with others, and I've learned that sharing my knowledge is one of the most rewarding experiences in my life. This is why the experience needs to be enjoyable and fun. I have realistic expectations for my students and help them reach their goals at their pace. Every time the student succeeds at one of their goals makes me ecstatic. I remember the struggles of learning and how satisfying it is. Read More

In High School, my music practice skills carried over to my academic studies and I was able to graduate with Honors, a 4.00, and earn 14 scholarships to attend college to become a musicteacher. Since then, I have had the privilege ofteaching1000's of students, and mentoring several college students. I specialize in finger style guitar therfore i like to spend a small portion introducing students to different kinds of picking techniques. Ialsoexplore improvisation and song structure concepts in variousdifferent styles of music. For beginning students i usually start with Hal Leonard's music books to get the fundamentals of music theory down. I also like to integrate learning styles of music and songs that my students want to learn from artists or bands they may like. I find that the best way to ensure a strong connection to the process of leaning is making it fun and creating a game plan for learning based on the individual. Read More

I am more passionate about drumming and becoming a better drummer than any other pursuite I have encountered in life thus far. I have played in many bands covering almost every style and am convinced that every good drummer should be able to switch it up and play in any style demanded of them at anytime. The most popular bands I have played with are: Mercuria and the Gem Stars, Subterranean Safari, Instant Empire, The Yawpers, and my current band Eldren. Read More

I began playing piano and attending lessons at age 6 and began playing drums at age 11. I have consistently played in my middle and high school bands and have attended numerous Honor Bands and camps related to concert percussion. After I graduated high school, I began attending LSU to earn an Bachelor's Degree in Music Education, and performed with LSU Wind Ensemble and Tiger Marching Band. After moving to Colorado, I began marching with independent ensembles like the Louisiana Stars and Blue Knights. Read More

My philosophy for lesson structure is that fun and context are a necessity. Learning exercises in a vacuum can be uninspiring and boring, but turning those exercises into games and allowing students to play along to tracks makes the music come to life! Instead of "having to" do an exercise or play a pattern, the student now "gets to" play a fun rhythm game or play along to music they like. Read More
