So growing up in this atmosphere has helped me through the years. I have been officially a drummer since I turned ten, and have continued to play in church, bands ( including my own) and for different events of different styles. I point out their strengths yet I keep a close eye on their weaknesses and work with them to eliminate any all bad habits in playing instruments. I always start my lessons with the basics. You have to learn the rudiments. We start with a book called stick control and move on to syncopation and more. We learn to hold the sticks the right way so you can play any technique later on. We concentrate on control and sounding clean. We move on to drum beats and fills .
