As we work through the scales I'll have the student read short songs and excerpts from Hal Leonard's "Piano Adventures Performance" book. As the student grasps the fundamentals I will then assign level appropriate solo pieces for them to perform. Beginner drum students will follow the same model by starting with rudiments and the different pieces of the drum set/djembe. I'm a positive and encouraging teacher who loves finding inspiration in music and sharing that with people. I am a drummer; the roots of my beats come from the people who taught me in Ghana in 2013. Since then, I have been playing independently as well as with other musicians all over the world. I also play the ukulele and sing.
